Vide mittens

A new pattern to Vide collection.

They are knitted in fingering weight yarn (Rowan fine tweed) and are made in twined stitch to make them warmer and longer lasting but if you don’t want to knit them in twined stitch you can use normal stockinette instead. The pattern is available under Patterns and on Ravelry. You can still make them as a Christmas present if you want to or perhaps a gift for yourself. This pair are to be a gift.

A par of mittens

Me and my fiance went to Tummelisa one of my local yarn shops to bye buttons for my new OWLS, but we didn’t find any buttons. My fiance P did for the first time ask me to knit something for him, a par of mittens in Debbi bliss arn tweed, this is the mitten made after his instructions. So I think that it really is his pattern radar then mine. Pattern link

Vide Mitts

I knitted these mitts in a vibrant red and white to make the colour work standout. This pattern is now available to buy under patterns for 3€ or the entire Vide collection for 7 €.

Vide collection is still a collection in the making, this far it includes Gloves, Socks and Mitts, I’m planing to include a hat probably a tam and some mittens within the next month or two. All these projects are perfect Christmas gifts if you are making for someone special.

Simple mittens

I feel like making mittens, it’s really starting to get cooler here, night frost and minus degrees (C) in the mornings.

As you can see I have knitted a few, to try out some different yarns and sizes. This far there are 3 adult sizes to choose from. To make your own pair of Simple mittens, you can find  the pattern under “patterns”, its free too.  The goal with the Simple patterns collection is to make a pattern that any one can make and that can qualify as a first knitting, for some one who wants to learn.  And at the same time a pattern that is a great basic pattern for a more experienced knitter.

I’m planing to make a Simple socks pattern. If there is any other Simple pattern you’d like to see, let me know in the comments.

SILO-PIPO a hat

It’s a beautiful hat but not really my style so I am giving it away. If you want the hat, comment on the blog post, and tell me why you should have it, before november 11, 2012.

The pattern is SILO-PIPO by  Kauhavan Kangas-Aitta Oy, Laura Tuulia Rissanen/Jaana Huhtanen design, I used 0.9 skeins of Schachenmayr nomotta Alpaka premium (very soft) in forest green and knitted it on 4.0 mm needles. It is extremely stretchy and fit heads up to 60 cm (24″) (I have 56 cm (22″) if you want to compare with the picture).
